Scripture Reading
Mark 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Insight on the Word
To the point that one has faith in God, degrees of blessing or possible. That is the amount or degree of blessings we receive are directly related to the amount or degree of faith we have in God. It is possible to “Have the faith of God,” or it would not be a command of Jesus. Then Jesus tells us: “according to your faith be it unto you” (Matthew 9:29). The same word Jesus spoke to the centurion, He speaks to us: “as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee.” (Matthew 8:13)
Man was created with God’s faith but doubt entered in at the fall (Genesis 3:1-7). Faith is restored in the new birth and if normally exercised and maintained it will grow to fullness and power (Romans 1:5,17; 10:17; Colossians 1:23; 2:6-7; 2 Thessalonians 1:3).
Faith without doubting is the condition to meet if we want the fulfillment of this wonderful passage. The promise is that everyone who meets the condition will be answered, even to the moving of mountains (Matthew 17:20; 21:21-22).
This wonderful gift of faith given to us (Ephesians 2:8-9), is free to use for God’s glory and His children, including ourselves. Purpose in your heart to take God at His word and believe in His promises. Refuse to doubt God’s Word and “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”
Speak the Word — Jesus promised if I pray and believe, I shall receive! (Mark 11:24)
