Matthew 6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
Insight on the Word
God is the great provider! His care of the plant kingdom which He arrays so beautifully, knowing that men use some of them for cooking and warmth (Psalms 58:9), demonstrate His care even for the least of His creation. If God takes care to clothe His plant kingdom certainly He will take care to clothe His children.
Sometimes God’s children have so little faith concerning His love and care for them. Many believe they are saved but their faith is small when it comes to: God protecting them during storms or dangers (Matthew 8:26); God working miracles for them (Matthew 14:31); God providing necessary food and nourishment (Matthew 16:6-16); and God provide clothing for their body (Matthew 6:30). But the truth is, God is a provider of not only our salvation, but all these things as well (Psalms 34:10, 84:11).
It may seem a small thing to some, but then again, very important to others. Have you ever needed a job but felt you didn’t have proper clothes to wear? Have you feared attending church because of your clothing? Clothing should never keep us from church. All godly churches welcome people no matter the dress and most are eager to help with clothing needs (1 Samuel 16:7). Maybe you have been cold because of inadequate clothing. Clothing is important to us, and it is to God as well. Think about the clothing Jesus wore. It was so valuable that men gambled over who would own it! (John 19:23-24)!
Know that God cares about you! You, and everything that affects your life, even your clothing. If God in all His love and mercy clothes “the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you!”
Speak the Word — God provides for all my needs, even my clothes! (Matthew 6:30)
